Moran Dekel

Teaching Areas

Moran Dekel was born and raised in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Moran is a former Modern Dance professional dancer, an internationally recognized guest teacher, one of the most sought-after Modern Dance teachers in Israel, and a senior judge in the dance field.

She graduated from the Merce Cunningham School in New York- awarded outstanding dancer scholarship, holds a Master's Degree in Dance, specializing in Dance Kinesiology, and a B.A in Dance Education.

Currently, she is a Senior Lecturer at The Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance and Orot Israel College, where she teaches: Modern Dance (Cunningham technique), methodology for modern dance instruction, and dance kinesiology. Furthermore, Moran is a member of the prestigious committee for teaching-learning quality at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance and is actively involved in student exchange initiatives and collaborations with international institutions within the Dance Faculty.

In addition to her work at higher-education institutions in Israel, she trains aspiring dancers at the exclusive Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance High School and developing and promoting excellence among the future generation of Israeli dancers. She also provides support for dance instruction team training.

Moran was honored as one of the ten most inspiring higher-education lecturers in Israel by the National Student Association (2020).
